Blanco Bowe Wedding March 6th, 2009

post written on 11 Apr 09 in Fashion, Portraits, Weddings

On this post, you won’t believe some of the details, pay attention to how much the shoes were. Thank you to my team of Catalina, Jason, Tracy and Paulina. Thank you to everyone at Ever After, Camille, Renato, Leah, and Denver, it sure helped in the alluring photographs. I will let Camille Russler of Ever After in Miami describe it best it her own words.

Shoes- Custom one of a kind celebrity status Shoe By Christian Louboutin made in Paris. Personal shopping by Stylist Camille Russler. Krishna wanted nothing but the best, my vision for her was a double platform fully custom Prive shoe with the bridal blue sole. Priceless at $5,000. When her Fabulous shoes arrived in the states they had celebrity stylists heads turning. I am so thrilled to have made Krishna’s Cinderella moment :) Now I am privileged to offer custom Louboutins exclusively at my boutique Ever After.

Dress – Custom Gown designed by Oscar de la Renta carried exclusively at my boutique Ever After. This gown is said to be the most sought after gown in Bridal Couture for 2009, the piece is pin pleated silk taffeta and dramatically pleated organza skirt. Krishna first saw her gown in electric blue at was showcased on trunk show at Ever After and it was love at first sight! She envisioned a gown for royalty and Oscar created an extended 50 inch custom train and skirt, now totaling 12 feet, to bring her dream alive. I designed a complimentary veil for her over the top gown, layers of tulle and organza delicately placed crystals to create an illusion of a soft glow as she entered her ceremony, styled with 5 elaborately designed hairpieces together they were the essential accessories for her Spectacular look!

Night of Giving for Casa Valentina

post written on 09 Apr 09 in Giving back, personal

Throughout the year my company photographs several events that we think are worthy causes, and we donate our services free of charge. Casa Valentina is an organization we feel strongly about. Feel free to look up their website and donate if you can.

THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN LAWYERS TO HOLD “NIGHT OF GIVING” IN MIAMI AS PART OF NATIONWIDE INITIATIVE

Miami — On March 24, 2009, the National Association of Women Lawyers® (NAWL) will host a Night of Giving in support of Casa Valentina, from 6:30-9:00 PM at Shutts & Bowen LLP, 1500 Miami Center, 201 S. Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33131. The event is one of four Night of Giving events that will be held during March in different regions of the country, including Boston, Los Angeles, Miami and New Jersey, as part of NAWL’s National Night of Giving month. Each Night of Giving enables women lawyers and other professionals to come together for an evening of philanthropic networking and volunteerism to benefit charitable and community service organizations.
The Night of Giving in Miami includes a group volunteer activity to benefit Casa Valentina, an organization which helps young women transition successfully from foster care to independent living. More information can be found at www.casavalentina.org. Participants are also asked to bring a donation from the Casa Valentina wish list. The volunteer activity will be followed by a networking reception for participants and Casa Valentina representatives. The event is sponsored by NAWL, LexisNexis, and host Shutts & Bowen LLP.
Chelsea Wilkerson, Executive Director of Casa Valentina emphasizes the importance of the event to the population Casa Valentina serves: “As these young women transition from foster care to independent living, there are many critical supplies needed to make sure they get a good head start on life. We are very grateful for the support provided by the sponsors of this event as well as each participant, and look forward to sharing these items with the young women we serve.”
“The Night of Giving is a great opportunity to for women from various segments, including law firm and government attorneys, in-house counsel, and other women professionals to get to know each other while having a positive, philanthropic impact,” said NAWL President Lisa Horowitz. “It is an event where we can all do something great for these women whom we want to see join our work force and prosper as they should despite their socio and economic circumstances,” said Aliette D. Rodz, from Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Focus on Women Group. Selene Edmunds, Director of LexisNexis Cares Global, shares their view: “We are so pleased to partner with NAWL on the Night of Giving events, bringing together women in the legal and business community to network while making a difference in the lives of women and girls at Casa Valentina. It is an honor to work with NAWL leadership and to use our collective resources to provide support to those who need it.”
Additional information about this Night of Giving event can be found at http://www.nawl.org/News_Events/Upcoming_Events.htm and RSVPs can be made via e-mail to urbanl@nawl.org.
NAWL, founded over 100 years ago, is the leading voluntary organization devoted to the interests of women lawyers and women’s legal rights. NAWL has members in all 50 states and engages in a variety of programs and activities to advance its mission. More information can be found at www.nawl.org.casavalentina

Editorial shoot with Crystal

post written on 07 Apr 09 in Fashion, Learning, personal

My first love in photography, and where I started my career,  was fine art. Soon after it became fashion, that was 1985.  24 years later, I still love what I do, photography as a whole. Mixing and meshing my different styles and loves that I have for photography, it’s my Fashion Fusion Style.

I did this editorial shoot with Crystal, in 90 minutes, the day before she left on assignment to China for 3 months of modeling. Crystal Glidden is a young woman with a great future in the modeling and acting world. Keep your eye out for her. We had the most perfect weather, a photographers dream.

I hope you enjoy the images and find inspiration in your own work, to continue with what you started, and what made you pick a camera in the first place.

Dade County Fair 2009

post written on 03 Apr 09 in Family, personal

I thought it was the most amazing thing that when we walked through the doors of the fair, that it was like a 37 year flashback for me. It used to be the higlight of the year for me and my mom to go to the fair, for 2 reasons.

First of course is the fair itself. The rides, games, food, animals, and all of the crafts. Second was that I used to enter my rabbits, yes, rabbits, in the fair every year. I used to raise dwarf rabbits as a hobby and side business at my parents home. Up to 100 rabbits at one time. So when the boys saw the rabbits, it brought a tear to my eye.

So to go back to the fair with my family and see it through their eyes is wonderful. We were at the fair for 7 hours, I don’t know how we did it without a meltdown by any of us. To have my boys Carson and Cameron fall asleep in the car on the way home, with smiles on their faces, was priceless. The best part was when they woke up the mext morning Carson asked if we were going to the fair again, I guess it made an impression on him, as it did me all those years ago. Now Alison and the boys have started their memories of the fair, and maybe one day we can go back with grandkids too.

post written on 02 Apr 09 in Fashion, Learning, Videos

This was a fun fashion shoot we did while we were on assignment in Paris a few months ago.

Our model Bibiana was originally from Spain, but was raised in Paris, fun.

Tatjana Terzic did an amazing job on hair and makeup.

We got lucky and got perfect weather, enjoy the short video, I know we did making it.
